Welcome to the website of the Archbarony of Ratik.

The region of Ratik became available for play once again in October 2006. This time it encompasses a wider real world region than just Hawaii, including Japan and parts of Australia and New Zealand.

In this website you will find details of the Living Greyhawk region of Ratik as it has been developed so far by the players and administrators of the region. You will also find details of opportunities for play and meta-game activities in the region. So have browse around and get involved in this, the most recently activated region of Living Greyhawk.

Living Greyhawk

Great adventure, exotic lands, ruthless politics, foreboding dungeons, and fantastic escapes. The Greyhawk campaign depicts a magical land at the crossroads of countless possibilities. The Greyhawk's world of Oerth is a place where powerful creatures contest with humanity and other races, where good folk struggle against evil, and Law wrestles with Chaos. Oerth is a world of magic, mystery and the imagination.

The Living Greyhawk campaign is an immense Dungeons and Dragons game played out in regional events throughout the real world. The continent of the Flanaess in the game world is divided into several nations and political states. These nations are mapped onto sections of the real world. Your real world location determines the default home region for you and your characters in the game world. When you travel to different areas of the real world, your character journeys with you to the corresponding locales in the Flanaess. Each region has a special flavor setting it apart from other regions, allowing you to immerse yourself in the intrigues of you home region, or join the turmoil in other regions.

 
Ratik
Ratik is a small but prosperous feudal nation located in the north-eastern corner of the Flanaess. It is seated in a cultural crossroads between the otherwise civilized south of the former Aerdi Great Kingdom and the barbaric north of the Suel on the Thillonrian Peninsula. Ratik stretches between the Rakers and the Solnor Coast, where the modest city of Marner, the capital, is its only major port. Its southern border is marked by the fortified hills separating Ratik from Bone March. These extend east all the way out to the softwood, where the hearty woodsmen are allied with the archbarony. Ratik's northern border divides the Timberway between itself and the Frost Barbarians, a long-standing informal boundary that has been respected by both sides for centuries and only recently was acknowledged by formal treaty. while these barriers have profoundly isolated Ratik from the rest of the Flanaess, they also have served to protect it from invaders for centuries.

Ratik is the Living Greyhawk region allocated to Hawaii, Japan, New Zealand South Island and the following states of Australia: ACT, Victoria and Tasmania. See the Asia-Pacific Region Map for a graphical view. Note that in October 2007, NSW returned to Perrenland.
